When Jeni Lowry launched Mizana Collections in the summer of 2016, she approached me to help develop a jewelry brand that balanced femininity and strength with unapologetic beauty. The identity steered away from the original edgy, balance-inspired ideas and stayed minimal; art direction was defined by bold photography and product styling that emphasized the raw beauty of the pieces. The minimal tones stayed consistent for the web and print collateral.
Fun fact: Mizana Collections pledges a portion of their proceeds to the Daraja Academy, an organization that provides Kenyan girls with shelter, food, healthcare and counseling services so students may focus on their academic and personal potential without the everyday barriers they would otherwise face.
