Other fun things
For my Senior Thesis at St. Edward's, I re-designed a music festival experience. This stemmed from a combination of personal passion for live music, market research, and using design thinking to challenge what exists to see if that can be made better.
I wanted to question the current status of music festivals and if certain elements in festivals such as only one location, a wide variety of music, and length should be challenged. I want to create a festival that would be more personal for attendees in a few ways. First, a choice in destination allows for adventure, travel, or convenience. Second, narrowing the selection of artists to one genre draws a smaller audience with similar preferences and music interests. Third, keeping the festival contained to a small number of artists gives each group more time on stage and more time to intentionally know one another, while traveling the U.S. touring together.
Travel, adventure, and independent folk music gave way to the name Tumbleweed. A sense of freedom to travel and tumble throughout the country, seeing beautiful places along the way, allowed for designing within a system, with distinction for each location.
After a process of mood boards and initial sketches based on research, promotional branding was created including logo, website, video, poster, tickets, stage design, directional flags, and street signs.
